English breakfast is a broader blend, typically Assam for body, Ceylon for briskness, and Kenyan or other African teas for colour and strength, which makes it a little lighter and more versatile. Neither term is protected, so a strong English breakfast (Yorkshire Gold) can out-muscle a gentle Irish one; the names describe a tendency, not a rule.
Milk, sugar, and steep time
